The U.S. National Committee on Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (USNC/TAM) is pleased to announce two fellowship opportunities for leading early career researchers who have an accepted abstract for the 20th U.S. National Congress of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (USNC-TAM 2026).
In addition to receiving either fellowship, the Fellows will participate in unique virtual and in-person mentoring events with senior mechanicians and other early career attendees in advance of the Congress, and will have the opportunity for subsequent professional development activities and engagement at the USNC-TAM 2026.

Fellowship applications are open until 5PM PST March 6, 2026.
Fellows will be selected by a subcommittee of the USNC/TAM, who will consider for each applicant: academic record, impact of the work to be reported at the Congress, and potential for future excellence in mechanics as indicated by the nomination letter.
Applicants must be studying at or working for a U.S. institution in academia, industry or government.
Applications must be received before the deadline.
